Hello! I’m author Kitty K. Free, and on this blog you will find my babble. I’m a poet, novelist, soap and candle maker, book binder, indie publisher, amateur photographer, and graphic artists.
As you’ll be able to see in my post, I’m a heavy hip hop fan. I love the golden era, but I still appreciate what’s happening now – underground.
I’m either a feminist or a womanist, or whatever you want to call a woman who wants equal pay for the same job, and the like. I accept that the average man is physically stronger than I am. But the pen is mightier than the sword.
Comic books, and zombies, are two of my favorite things. Enough so that I have an alter-ego who handles my craving to write about both, as well as about women who kick ass.
I think marijuana should be legal. I’m not a smoker, but I loathe the hypocrisy of politics, money and fear.
When I speak, I speak on behalf of me, not the entire black race. So, let my fuck ups be my own. Just because I say something, does not mean every black person in America feels that way.
I don’t agree with apologizing for who I am, as long as who I am doesn’t physically hurt who you are. Hurt feelings, well, we all get hurt feelings sometime. I don’t aim to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I’ve tip-toed around too much of my life, so now I stomp. Having said all that, I hate that the way I live hurts the environment, as well as people in other countries. From my clothes and appliances that are made by sweatshop labor, to the gas I use that drains the Earth of resources and pollutes the air, it’s a hypocrisy that I am actively working to rectify for myself. Which is one of the reasons I want to live in a self-sustainable home.
I’m deathly afraid of police brutality. I know it’s not all of them. But it’s enough to make a difference in my life and the lives of many others.
If I had my choice of colors, I’d choose this one again.
I hate racism, and the denial of racism.
I’m enjoying this journey. I’ve still managed to keep the wonderment of my childhood. Life constantly looks new to me. When it doesn’t that means I’ve made my world is too small and it’s time for a change.
My mom is my superhero. I call her She-Ra.
My first published novel Confessions of a Serial Masturbator, is available now on Kindle and paperback. If you read it and like it please let me know! If you do not like it, you can let me know that too:).
My goal as a novelist is to present relatable stories that empower women in every facet of our lives. Confessions of a Serial Masturbator, is an example of that.
That’s enough about me. Tell me about you!
